The Dovecote

The new cottage, The Dovecote, sits on it's own in the shade of a grand old Lime (Linden, Tilia, Tilleul) tree. The cottage follows the traditions of the area with a roman-canal tiled roof and elegant ceramic tile floors, throughout. The single story Dovecote has two bedrooms, one to either side of the living room. There are ensuite bathrooms with both bedrooms.

The living room's décor has a 'southern' feel with wicker work and teak. The striking pictures are primarily reproductions of works by painters Pascal Etchenic and Anne-marie Grossi; and, of course, there are plants. In addition to the settee and chairs, the living room has a glass fronted, cast iron, log burning fireplace, a DVD player and monitor, sound system and CD player. The room has two double French doors and looks out onto a private terrace under the leafy canopy of the mature Tilleul tree. It also has views of the swimming pool, gardens, and fields beyond. 

The tiled 'island' kitchen gives the "cooks" social advantages and a fine view of the garden. The kitchen is fully equipped including a refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, cupboard and drawer units, gas cooking stove and oven.

The dining room table seats 4 to 6. A full set of dishes, cutlery, cups, glasses, serving crockery and tableware completes the furnishings.

The Dovecote has a clothes washing machine and open-air clothes dryer; an electric dryer is available.

The master bedroom, has a double bed, night stands and lamps, chair, clothes hanging rail, chest-of-drawers and full length mirror. It's en suite bathroom has a large bathtub along with hand basin and WC. 

French doors lead off the bedrooms to the private terrace which catches the morning sun.

The second bedroom is of the same stone, painted plaster and wood-beamed style. It, has either two single beds or one large double bed, a clothes hanging rail, and the furniture includes a chest-of-drawers. It's en suite bathroom has a shower, hand basin and WC.

The Dovecote has it's own car parking space.

The Swimming Pool 

The Polynesian Pool is a 15 metres x 15 metres swimming pool, fully fenced in with generous sunbathing space on it's wide, surrounding tiled terrace, and a beach, and "Wildcat Island".
